Competition on the occasion of Mother Language Day 2022

The first Recitation Competition took place on 21.02.2022, with performers also residing abroad, including in the UK, USA, and Belarus. Forty-five people entered the first stage of the competition, and the best 20 qualified for the final. Thanks to transmission and video streaming, participants who could not be in Bialystok in person had the opportunity to perform at the final gala online. This gala took place at the Bialystok Puppet Theatre and was broadcast online. The gala also featured an artistic part. Andrej Chadanovič, a Belarusian poet and translator, performed at the beginning. He gave a lecture to the guests of the event entitled. "He gave a lecture to the event's guests entitled "Belarusian poetry in the modern world".

While the jury was deliberating, there was a meeting with Anna Kondratiuk-Swierubska - editor of the weekly magazine for Belarusians in Poland "Niwa", a Belarusian reporter and writer from Podlasie.
